Well, all of the comments that I'm making only apply to the undergraduate
program. I've been involved in the development of that curriculum and I have
been fighting this tendency to lean more towards the industry standards rather
than what is good for teaching concepts and practical skills. 

The Masters program is in my opinion the BEST thing about Tech. It is better
than the undergrad of the phd programs. You get a wide range of classes, the
instructors are very competent, you can get out in one year if you are full
time and there are plenty of opportunities for research. Oh yeah, there are
enough work contacts to get you any job you could possibly want in your field
of study.

The phd program is getting better and I suspect in another 2 or 3 years we will
actually be top ten instead of top 20.
