What Stephen is looking for is a 10baseT crossover cable, not a serial one.
If I recall correcly you need to swap 1-2 with 5-6.  You could cut
a cable in half and splice it back together.  I'd verify that my directions
are right though.  It's almost more cost effective to buy a hub these
days with 4 port varieties at or below the $50 level.
