have you considered bad cache, either on the CPU itself or on the
motherboard?

I had a similar problem and discovered that the computer worked fine with
cpu cache disabled. a new pentium chip fixed that sig 11 problem for me.

i'd disable cpu cache and try the machine. it's SLOWER but if it works,
you have found your problem. next go for the motherboard cache.
