Linux Enthusiasts seek same for long, meaningful relationship.
Internet access not required, but TCP/IP networking a must. Excited by intense
discussions of kernels upgrades and device driver configuration? Do you have
that radical bent that would make you consider installing an O/S on your PC
that was NOT developed by Microsoft? Does having a password to an account
named 'root' on your own personal machine give you a feeling of empowerment?
This ad is aimed toward you!

Since Mark Horton's presentation of the Linux Operating System at last month's
AUUG meeting, members of the gtlinux at cc.gatech.edu mailing list have expressed
interest in forming an Atlanta Area Linux User's Group. (I was one of the
people just bursting at the seams to ask and answer questions.) Judging by the
attendence at the meeting, the critical mass for such a group already exists.
The group would be an informal one, meeting possibly once a month, likely
somewhere on Tech campus. The group would be for everyone interested in Linux,
from gurus to newbies.

One of the things being discussed on the list was forming a group affiliated
with the AUUG.

Although there has been no discussion of this on the gtlinux list, I'm sure
that most people wouldn't mind getting together with folks who run some flavor
of 386BSD as well. (Hopefully those that do mind won't mind too much.)
Anyone running Linux or Net BSD on Amiga or other non x86 platform would be
welcome I'm sure!

To join the gtlinux mailing list, send mail to majordomo at cc.gatech.edu.edu with
'subscribe gtlinux (your e-mail address)' in the first line of the body of the
message. To vote on a name for this group, send e-mail to me and I'll forward
them on to Tucker Balch (if you know him, or are already on the list, e-mail
him directly)

Proposals thus far (feel free to send more):
        ALUG Atlanta Linux Users' Group
        SLUG Super Linux User's Group
        ALE Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts
SNALE Super New Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts
        LUG Linux User Group
(members would be LUG Nuts, har har)

Free Mutltiuser OS fans only. Recovering SCO-aholics welcome. OS/2 devotees
need not apply.

DISCLAIMER: Not everyone on the list is as goofy as the poster of this article.
