You should try Minicom.  From what I hear, it's a telix-like comm program.

Yes, there are several.  Mosaic, chimera and tkwww are all precompiled,
and live in /pub/linux/system/Network/info-systems on sunsite and mirrors
(such as ftp.cc.gatech.edu).  There is even a termified version of Mosaic.
